Car collides with school bus filled with kids on near north east side

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – A car collided with a school bus filled with 38 fourth grade students and three adults on the near north east side Wednesday.

It happened at Fall Creek Parkway North Drive and North Meridian Street around 4 p.m.

The superintendent of Northern Wells Community Schools says the students attend Lancaster Elementary School in Bluffton and they were in Indianapolis for a field trip.

The superintendent says the the car hit the left front side of the bus.

Two ambulances were called to the scene. The driver and the passenger of the car were transported to Methodist Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Students were loaded onto a second bus and into cars of chaperones that were also in Indy for the trip.
