KATIE, Okla. – Powerful storms ripped through Oklahoma this week, killing at least two people and causing extensive property damage.

But even in the midst of all that destruction, there were moments of hope and joy. A video posted on Facebook by Maria Timmer shows a reunion between a dog and her owner. The two were separated when an EF-3 tornado swept through the community Monday.

According to KWTV, the reunion happened Tuesday morning. News crews arrived in Katie, Okla., to survey the damage and saw the pup, Spirit, wandering. She was scared and hid in the bushes for a bit.

Her owner, who lost her home in the tornado, survived by taking refuge in a storm shelter. A crew from the station captured their reunion.
