INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.– Team Penske’s Simon Pagenaud won the pole position Friday for the 3rd annual Angie’s List Grand Prix of Indianapolis.

Pagenaud is the series points leader and this is his second straight pole.

“I just want to take my hat off to my engineer for giving me a monster car every time,” Pagenaud said after capturing the top spot on Friday afternoon. “As soon as I put Firestone tires on the car, she became magical as we imagined. So it’s lots of fun for me right now. ”

Charlie Kimball was right behind Pagenaud and will start in 2nd position during the 3rd annual Grand Prix tomorrow afternoon.

“For me to have done my fastest lap there in Q3 it makes me pretty happy,” Kimball said after a successful day at the track. “I think we feel good about the race car for tomorrow and when it comes to the guys in pit lane, Chip Ganassi Racing is the best in the business.”
