Statewide Silver Alert for northern Indiana man canceled

UPDATE: The Steuben County Sheriff canceled the Silver Alert late Friday night. It is unknown why at this time. 

FREMONT, Ind. – The Steuben County sheriff is investigating the disappearance of a 73-year-old man from Fremont, Indiana.

Fremont Indiana is located around 60 miles east of Elkhart, Indiana.

The man’s name is Larry F. Shelton. He’s 6 foot 1 inch tall, weighing 200 lbs., with grey balding hair and blue eyes. Police say it is unknown what type clothing he was wearing at the time of his disappearance.

Shelton was last seen Thursday, May 12, at 12:00 p.m. EST in Fremont.

Police say he is believed to be in danger and may require urgent medical attention.

He is believed to be traveling in a white 2004 Ford Ranger pickup truck with Indiana Plate URK234.
