LAFAYETTE, Ind. – He was angry because they didn’t play his song on time.

Lafayette police said that’s the reason a man fired two shots at a club over the weekend. It happened around 3 a.m. Saturday at Varsity Clubhouse bar, 827 N. 6th St., Lafayette.

Officers arrived at the bar in response to a report of shots fired. By the time police arrived, the man had already left. Witnesses said the man was upset at closing time because his song hadn’t played on the jukebox.

He argued with staff, left and returned shortly after that with a gun. He fired two rounds into the ceiling before leaving. No one was hurt during the incident.

Anyone with information should call the Lafayette Police Department at (765) 807-1200 or the anonymous We-Tip Hotline at (800) 78-CRIME.
