INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --Good Monday afternoon! Temperatures once again climbed into the upper 70s and low 80s across central Indiana with plenty of sunshine.
Tonight will bring lows in the low 50s with a clear sky and light south, southeast winds. Tuesday's highs will be back in the low 80s with a mostly sunny sky and winds shifting south, southwest 5-10 mph.
Moisture will continue to increase from the south through the week. Dew points will be in the upper 50s and low 60s by Tuesday evening and will be in the 60s through the rest of the week thereafter. This means it will feel rather humid outside. Keep yourself hydrated this week.
There will be enough instability in the atmosphere as a couple of upper-level waves move by to promote thunderstorm chances from Wednesday into the weekend. Any storm that develops Wednesday across central Indiana may be strong to severe with a damaging wind and hail threat. A cluster of storms may also move through the area Wednesday night into Thursday and pose a severe risk too. Pay attention to the weather as we head into the holiday weekend. I wish I could say it will be completely dry, however, models continue to show the potential for a few showers and t-storms around. We'll be tracking it! --Danielle Dozier
