Police: Suspects accused of vandalizing school, stealing security camera identified

Police in Grant County said the two individuals have been identified. Both are juveniles, and no additional information is available.


GRANT COUNTY, Ind. – Authorities in Grant County are trying to identify two people who vandalized a school.

According to the Grant County Sheriff’s Department, the suspects drove onto the property at the old Liberty School, 8720 S. 300 W. Fairmount. They broke a second story window and stole a video surveillance camera after knocking it off the building, police said.

Both suspects appeared to be young men. One wore a gray hooded sweatshirt while the other wore a t-shirt with writing on the front. A surveillance camera captured images of both suspects, who looked directly at the camera during the theft.

Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers at (765) 662-TIPS (8477). Information leading to an arrest could result in a $1,000 cash reward. Tips can be submitted anonymously.
