INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.– President and CEO of Big Machine Records Scott Borchetta, who was also involved in “American Idol,” confirmed to FOX59 Friday that Grammy Award-winning country music artist Keith Urban won’t be in town after all for the 100th running of the Indy 500.

Borchetta said Urban hurt his back and won’t be able to attend. He did not say to what extent Urban was injured.

Urban was expected to attend the red carpet and ride with Mario Andretti for the “Fastest Seat in Sports.” He and Andretti were expected to ride a two-seater in front of the pace car. Urban was not going to be performing music in any capacity during the Indy 500 weekend.
