Lawmakers close in on IMS deal

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. –The thrill of a lifetime for 200 Indianapolis Public School students who will attend the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500 thanks to Ice Miller partner, Lacy M. Johnson.

Johnson, whose law practice focuses on public affairs, provided a block of 250 tickets for the IPS students and chaperones.

For many of them, they will get their first taste of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway at a young age.  Johnson has been an Indianapolis 500 fan virtually all his life.

IPS selected the group of seventh and eighth grade students from across the system based on having a  perfect or near-perfect attendance record, and good standing in their school.

“Lacy’s generosity is very much appreciated and I commend him for that, but I also cannot think of a better opportunity to introduce young Indianapolis residents to IMS than at ‘The Greatest Spectacle in Racing,'” said Mark Miles, President and CEO of Hulman & Company. “By providing them with a memorable experience on Race Day, we hope they will make IMS a part of their Month of May traditions for years to come.”
