DELAWARE COUNTY, Ind. — A man is in the hospital and facing charges after a shootout with deputies Friday night.

Delaware County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call about a woman being held against her will, at gunpoint, in the 7900 block of Gloucester Road outside of Selma around 10:30 p.m.

When deputies entered the mobile home, they say Gregory B. Grider Jr., 28, fired shots at them.

One deputy returned fire, hitting Grider in the lower abdomen.

Nobody else was hurt.

The sheriff’s departments says Grider has been arrested 12 times since 2011, and they’ve been to this home before.

Grider was taken to the hospital under police guard.

Charges in this latest incident are pending.
