INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (May 28, 2016)–One person was injured in a house fire on the city’s east side Saturday afternoon.

Indianapolis Firefighters responded to a report of a house fire in the 900 block of North Bancroft St.

The first fire crews on the scene spotted fire and smoke pouring from the front of the residence.

The fire spread quickly and the woman suffered burns to her hands.

Emergency crews took the injured woman to Eskenazi Hospital in stable condition.

Damage to the two-story is estimated at $25,000.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
