Firefighters investigate east side house fire

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Crews from the Indianapolis Fire Department were called to a house fire in the 2500 block of East 18th Street shortly after 9 a.m. Friday.

Upon arriving they found both smoke and a small fire coming from the attic area. Crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire and limit the damage to the roof and attic area.

The cause of the fire, which caused about $30,000 in damages, is still being investigated. No injuries were reported .
