CINCINNATI, Ohio — The Dixie Chicks kicked off their MMXVI tour in Cincinnati with a controversial performance.
The country group sang “Goodbye Earl” in front of a defaced photo of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump on June 1, according to E! News.
The photo showed Trump with devil horns and facial hair.
Trump reportedly responded by saying, “these good-for-nothing women are chicken; they’re no longer chicks. They’re doing to me what they did to George W. 13 years ago. They’re trying hard to learn new tricks, but they’re too old for that and should be ashamed of themselves.”
Earlier this year, lead singer Natalie Maines tweeted, “as long as Donald Trump’s decisions for America are as solid as his decision about his hair, we’re in good shape.”
