Bacon is always good, but what makes bacon great?

If you can answer that question, then your dream job awaits!

A breakfast website called “Extra Crispy” is looking for a bacon critic. The freelancer will stay on the “bacon beat,” covering “bacon’s role in food, drinks and culture.”

The website said the bacon critic can live anywhere in the U.S. and will have a three-month appointment to research, write about and critique bacon. Applicants need to have an “insatiable” hunger:

Do you like eating strips of cured pork belly*, a.k.a. bacon? Do you have strong feelings about what makes good bacon good and bad bacon bad? Is "bad bacon" even a thing? Can you string words into sentences and paragraphs that convey information and entertain readers?

To apply, candidates need to write a short essay of no more than 600 words describing their best bacon-related memory. The website is looking for writers with an “unmistakable voice” and a good sense of humor.

If you’re interested, you need to apply by June 24. You can find more information at the Extra Crispy website.
