UPDATE: Brother of Brownsburg homicide victim now charged with murder

UPDATE (June 27, 2017) — Justin Brabson was sentenced to 72 years in prison for his brother’s death. A jury deliberated for two hours before finding him guilty during a May 2017 trial.

BROWNSBURG, Ind. — The brother of a man found shot to death in his Brownsburg apartment has now been charged in his brother’s murder.

Police have been searching for 28-year-old Justin Brabson after his brother, 30-year-old Christopher Brabson was found dead inside an apartment complex in the 7000 block of Meadow Trail, near State Road 267 and East Tilden Road, around 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

Authorities confirmed they located Justin Sunday afternoon. Spokesperson April Hyde said they received a tip that Justin was staying in a hotel in Crawfordsville. After speaking with him, officers brought Justin back to the Brownsburg Police Department without incident.

Justin  has been charged with murder with a firearms enhancement.   He could face a 45 to 65 year penalty.

Following the discovery of Christopher Brabson, police initiated a search for Justin, calling him a person of interest in the investigation.
