INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Scotty’s Brewhouse has fired at least one member of its management after a waitress at the Southport restaurant received an unwanted “Best Butt” award.

The woman, who has asked not to be named, says during an event where staff was given awards, she received the accolade in full view of about fifty coworkers.

The woman says that when the award was given to her by management, she was then told to turn around in front of everyone so people could take pictures of her behind. According to the woman, other employees were also given awards, but for things like “Best Bartender” and “Best Server.”

Scotty’s owner Scott Wise in a statement issued to IndyStar called Monday’s incident at his Southport restaurant “unsanctioned and unapproved.”

“Our executive team, including myself, were completely unaware of it, we did not condone or sponsor this event. As a result, we took immediate action that included terminating management, and I have instructed our teams to immediately do additional sexual harassment training companywide, beyond the initial training process new managers go through already when they are hired,” said Wise

Wise did not elaborate on how many employees were fired over the incident, but said he has addressed the incident with employees and wants to ensure nothing like it happens again.
