WHITESTOWN, Ind. – The Boone County Sheriff’s Department is investigating after they say two suspects robbed a Cracker Barrel restaurant at gunpoint.

Officers were called to the 6300 block of Crane Dr. around midnight on reports of a robbery.

According to police on scene, the manager closed up the restaurant and was confronted by two suspects while walking to his car.

Police say a man and woman, both armed with handguns, forced the manager back inside, into the back office area where a safe is located.

The suspects forced the manager to open the safe before locking him and another maintenance worker in the walk-in freezer and fleeing, according to police.

No injuries were reported, but officers say the suspects got away with about $9,000.

The sheriff’s department has alerted surrounding agencies to be on the lookout for these suspects. They believe the suspects fled in a small white vehicle.

Officers say they are reviewing surveillance video from the restaurant.

Anyone with information about this robbery is urged to call the Boone County Sheriff’s Department.
