LEBANON, IND – Lebanon police are investigating a stabbing that occurred late Wednesday morning in a small homeless camp located behind a KFC restaurant on State Road 32.

Investigators say 38-year old Kristy Reisinger walked out of a wooded area into the KFC parking lot around 11:30 a.m., telling people she had been stabbed.

Police are now searching for a suspect, John J. Lacey, and a person of interest, Donald O. Snyder.

Lacey is described as approximately 5’9″ and 165 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes. Snyder is described as a 21-year-old male that is approximately 6’3″ and about 170 pounds. Snyder has black hair and hazel eyes.

“There was a stab into her neck and then multiple cuts on the head and arm area,” said Lebanon Police Patrolman Justin Fuston.

Fuston said the cuts on Reisinger’s arms appeared to be defensive wounds.  Fuston said she was awake and talking when she was rushed to Saint Vincent Hospital.  She is expected to recover from her injuries.

Fuston said investigators believe Reisinger knew her attackers.

“We have two male suspects believed to be a part of this,” Fuston said.  “And also, a green minivan pulled up to the scene and left shortly before the female came out of the woods.”

The green minivan was last seen traveling eastbound on State Road 32.

After the incident, members of Lebanon’s Freedom Church told FOX59 they believe the stabbing victim is a regular attendee at their church.  They said she attends regularly and volunteers at the church, but she has been living in a small homeless camp in the woods behind KFC for about a year.  Church members also said they were aware of at least two men who also lived in the homeless camp.

Lebanon Police are investigating the possibility that the suspects and victim lived together in the homeless camp.

“That is a possibility, yes.  It is an ongoing investigation, the detectives will be going out to talk to her once she’s able to give more information.  Hopefully we can get this cleared up.”

The motive for the stabbing is not yet known.  Tracking down the suspects could be difficult since they may not have a permanent address.  Investigators did not have a license plate number for the green minivan the suspects were seen traveling in.

Members of the Freedom Church said they will be offering support to the woman who was stabbed, even after she is released from the hospital.
