Death investigation under way after woman’s body found on southeast side

A woman's body was found on June 24, 2016

INDIANAPOLIS – Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department are investigating after they say a woman’s body was found on the city’s southeast side early Friday morning.

According to police officials, officers were called to the intersection of Senour Road and Troy Avenue on reports of a person down.

When they arrived, officers say they found a female victim who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Homicide detectives did respond to the scene, but this is only being classified as a death investigation at this point.

No victim information has been released.
