INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- The Dalai Lama gave a public talk entitled "Compassion as the Pillar of World Peace" at the State Fairgrounds Saturday afternoon.

The Center for Interfaith Cooperation and the Indiana Buddhist Center hosted the event.

Thousands of people from around the world were in attendance.

His Holiness spoke about peace between people of different faiths and recent terror attacks.

He will speak alongside Lady Gaga and Ann Curry at the U.S. Conference of Mayors Sunday morning.
