INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — IMPD’s “Operation First Step” continues with the arrest of two individuals suspected of dealing drugs.

On Friday, IMPD narcotics detectives obtained a search warrant for a house in the 1900 block of West Miller Street.  Richard Gammon, 46, and Natishia Stephens, 33, were arrested.  Gammon was preliminarily charged with dealing narcotic drugs, possession of narcotic drugs, and maintaining a common nuisance.  Stephens was preliminarily charged with possession of narcotic drugs, visiting a common nuisance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

During the search of the house detectives seized:

  • about 28 grams of Heroin
  • $3,800 cash
  • 7 firearms (2 long guns, 5 hand guns)
  • Pill bottles containing an unknown substance in sealed plastic bags
  • A large foot locker containing precious silver, gold coins, and other precious metals.

“Today’s search warrant is a continuation of Operation First Step, which targets illegal guns, narcotics, and violent offenders,” said Chief Troy Riggs.  “Today’s seizure comes on the heels of our narcotics detectives removing nearly a kilo of cocaine off the streets of Indianapolis earlier this week. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department will continue to go after those individuals committing violent crimes and selling drugs in our community.”
