Police investigate overnight shooting on east side

Investigators at scene on June 27, 2016

INDIANAPOLIS – Police are investigating after they say a person was shot near an east side Walmart early Monday morning.

Officers were called to the Walmart in the 8000 block of East 38th Street around 1 a.m. on reports of shots fired in the area.

When they arrived on scene, officers say they found a man suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The victim was transported to Eskenazi with non-life threatening injuries.

Police on scene say the victim was shot at another location and driven to the Walmart before medics were called to assist him.

No suspect information has been released and police say no arrests have been made at this time.
