3 jail inmates released after crime case system glitch

MARION COUNTY, Ind. – An inmate at the Marion County Jail died Saturday after police say he was found unresponsive in his cell.

Officials say Walter Gamble, 35, was declared deceased at 4:24 p.m.

Gamble had been incarcerated at the jail since his arrest on May 12, 2016. He was being held on charges of criminal deviate conduct, two counts of sexual misconduct with a minor, sexual battery, and battery.

A follow up investigation is being conducted by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, and the Marion County Coroner’s Office.
