CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. – The Montgomery County Animal Welfare League seized over 50 dogs from a feces covered home in Crawfordsville Friday.

Officials say 53 Chihuahuas, two black lab puppies and a German Shepard were living in the home.

The homeowner relinquished rights to the animals and is reportedly cooperating. They are not currently facing any charges.

Officials say the dogs are doing “pretty good” and a couple of people have already applied to adopt some of them. Several rescue groups are also pitching in and are taking some of the dogs.

People can fill out an adoption application here.
