Victim in serious condition following north side shooting

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Officers are investigating a north side shooting that left an older man in serious condition.

IMPD was dispatched to the 3900 block of North Capitol Avenue just after midnight on reports of a person shot.

When they arrived they found a man who appeared to have suffered a gunshot wound to the face. They believe the victim was shot and then went to a neighbors for help.

Officers returned to the home where they believe the crime happened and found shell casings inside.

The man was transported to Eskanazi in serious condition.

Police are investigating to figure out what caused the shooting.
