JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. – A routine traffic stop led to a two-county police chase and eventual arrest of the driver and his juvenile passenger.

Southport police say an officer attempted to pull over Chase Witt for running a stop sign near the intersection of Southport Road and McFarland Road around 6:53 p.m.

Police say Witt then led them on chase down Southport Road, to westbound I-465, to southbound State Road 37, to Smith Valley Road, where he went off-road and eventually got stuck on a hill in front of IMI Concrete.

Witt and his passenger were taken into custody without incident. In addition to fleeing charges, both Witt and the juvenile woman were arrested on warrants for violation of probation stemming from thefts.
