Indiana State Police detectives investigate death of 3-month-old

SULLIVAN COUNTY, Ind. – Indiana State Police detectives are investigating the death of an infant in Sullivan County.

The investigation began when deputies were called to the 4450 block of South County Road in Carlisle around 1:15 p.m. When police arrived they discovered an unconscious 3-month-old baby boy. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Department then requested assistance from the Indiana State Police. Interviews are being conducted at this time to determine what happened.

It is unknown at this time what caused the baby’s death. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday at Terre Haute Regional Hospital.
