INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Pokémon Go players filled White River State Park for a meetup Saturday.
The event was expected to only attract around 100 people, but word spread over a few days and thousands became interested in the event. Organizers even had to get a permit from the city to put it on.
People of all ages participated. Some are discovering the Pokemon world for the first time with the mobile game, but others are rediscovering their love for it.
"A lot of us it's very nostalgic, we grew up with it. So to be able to come back to that as adults, so you can drive every where catch everything you've ever dreamed of, I think that's the reason for it's popularity," said Amber Phelps, Team Rocket member.
The meetup was scheduled from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m.
