Man arrested for Indy’s first murder of 2016
UPDATE – Givens was sentenced to four years in prison for reckless homicide.
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Detectives have arrested the man they believe committed Indianapolis’ first murder of 2016.
Najee Givens, 26, is accused of shooting and killing Terry Williams, 19, in the 6000 block of Windsor Drive on January 4.
When officers arrived on scene, they found Williams suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. EMS crews pronounced him dead at the scene.
Nearly five months later, U.S. Marshalls Service took Givens into custody without incident in Canton, Ohio. He was extradited back to Indianapolis last week and is currently being held at the Marion County Jail, awaiting his next court hearing.
