About 14,000 customers affected at height of IPL power outage Wednesday

INDIANAPOLIS—Indianapolis Power and Lights said they are currently working to restore power to more than 380 customers that have been impacted by an outage on the city’s east side.

The outage occurred around 10:15 a.m. At its height, some 14,000 customers were affected. Crews were dispatched to east side locations due to reports of wires down.

The areas affected are mainly in Warren Township and included homes, businesses and traffic lights. IPL said it was still working to restore power to some customers and asked for patience as crews continued the work.
