2-year-old boy drowns in Kokomo pool

KOKOMO, Ind.– A 2-year-old boy drowned Tuesday at a Kokomo pool.

Howard County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to the 3000 block of 100 East North Street on a report of a drowning.

Deputies found a 2-year-old boy lying unconscious next to a pool. CPR had already been initiated by the boy’s mother. The deputies took over the CPR until paramedics arrived to begin treatment.

The boy was taken to St. Vincent Hospital in Kokomo and pronounced dead. The child was identified as Myles Persinger.

It is not known how long the boy was under water.

Officials continue to investigate the circumstances of the drowning. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Ernie Shirley at (765) 456-2031.
