Triple shooting on north side leaves man dead

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Police are investigating after a triple shooting on the city’s north side Wednesday night left two men dead.

Police say the shooting happened inside a vehicle in the 1600 block of East 44th Street just before 10:30 p.m.

When they arrived on scene, officers say they found three people inside the vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds. One person was pronounced dead at the scene. That victim has been identified as 24-year-old Wesley Small of Indianapolis.

The two other victims, a man and a woman, were taken to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition where the man later died. He has been identified as 29-year-old Dajuan Mitchell of Indianapolis.

Police ask anyone with information about this shooting to call Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS (8477).
