INDIANAPOLIS – Six residents are displaced after a fire on the city’s near east side damaged three houses.

Firefighters responded to a fire in the 1100 block of North Hamilton Avenue shortly after 3:15 a.m.

When they arrived, firefighters say they found a house fully engulfed in flames.

Fire officials say the house is vacant, but two neighboring houses were also significantly damaged. Three people were in each neighboring house and IFD is working with Red Cross to assist them.
