Lafayette police searching for suspect in armed robbery of Food Plus store

LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Lafayette Police Department is investigating an armed robbery of a Food Plus store that occurred early Saturday morning.

Officers were dispatched to the store at 903 Kossuth Street around 4:10 a.m. When they arrived, the clerk told them a man entered with his face covered and demanded money.

Police say no weapon was displayed at the time and the suspect fled before they arrived. Officers conducted a search, but the suspect was not located.

Police say the suspect is a thin man, around 5’6” to 5’8” and he was wearing a white jacket, goggles, a green mask, gloves and jeans at the time of the robbery.
