Police release identity of man fatally shot on near north side of Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – IMPD is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred late Tuesday night on the near north side of Indianapolis.

Police responded to 29th Street and Capitol Avenue just after 11:30 p.m. after receiving a report of shots fired. When they arrived they found a man lying on the sidewalk and suffering from at least one gunshot wound.

The man, later identified as Cullen Hubbard, 27, was transported by EMS personnel to IU Health Methodist Hospital in critical condition where he later died.

Witnesses told officers the suspect fled on foot, but no suspect description is available at this time.
