BROWNSBURG, Ind. – People across central Indiana are recovering after tornadoes caused damage to their properties Monday evening, but the victim creating the most buzz is a Brownsburg beekeeper.

Byron Kulis’ collection of bees was hit hard by the storm, causing the insects to be let loose from their structures.

FOX59 visited Kulis’ property to assess the damage once the storm had passed, but when our photographer exited his vehicle to shoot video, he was stung multiple times. He stuck it out at the bee infested property to capture video from a distance.

Besides the damaged bee structures, Kulis says he lost around five trees on his property.

We’ve reached out to ask for an update on the escaped bees, but have not heard back yet.
