PITTSBORO, Ind. – Pittsboro police are investigating the deaths of a man and woman found inside a home.

Officers went to a house on North Maple Street around 12:45 p.m. Tuesday after they received a call from one of the woman's family members.

When police arrived on scene, they found two people dead from gunshot wounds in an apparent murder-suicide. Police identified them Wednesday as Brock Clossey, 39, and Robin Longworth, 49.

Investigators believe Clossey killed Longworth and then turned the gun on himself. They also believe the two fought before the shooting. Neighbors told police they heard a gunshot-like sound last Tuesday, meaning the shooting could have happened up to a week ago.

"We don’t have a lot of this going on at all," said Chief Deputy Steve King at the scene. "It’s been a while since we've had a homicide in the town. It's not usual at all."

Toxicology results for both Clossey and Longworth are pending.

Two dogs found at the scene appeared to be in good health and were turned over to Hendrick County animal control officers.
