GREENWOOD, Ind. –Police say Central Nine Career Center in Greenwood is no longer under a lockdown, and police have given the “all clear” at the school.

The technical school was placed under a precautionary lockdown around 11:30 a.m. on Monday after someone reportedly spotted a mentally ill runaway in the area.

Once the school was placed on lockdown, the students were ordered to stay in their classrooms as 15 – 20 officers searched in and around the school to make sure that person was not on the premises.

Officers finished the sweep just before 2 p.m., and they did not find anything suspicious.

Central Nine Career Center is a technical school in Greenwood located off of US 31 near Stop 18 Road.
