FORTVILLE, Ind. – Police say an Eastern Hancock Community Schools teacher and girls varsity basketball coach was arrested for drunk driving Friday night.

Fortville police officers stopped Sharon Doud, 47, around 11 p.m. for allegedly driving erratically on South Maple Street.

During the stop, Doud identified herself as an Eastern Hancock teacher as well as a coach. Police say she also admitted that she had been drinking at a concert before being stopped.

When officers conducted a field sobriety test, they say Doud had a breath alcohol content of .217, which is almost three times the legal limit. Doud was then arrested for operating while intoxicated and taken to the Hancock County Jail.
