DETROIT- While the latest polls show Donald Trump starting to close the gap somewhat on Hillary Clinton nationally, Trump still trails by very large margins among Hispanic and African-American voters.

Trump spent part of this weekend reaching out to African-American voters in Detroit, after focusing on immigration late last week.

Clinton attacked Trump for his trip to Mexico on Wednesday.

“You don’t build a coalition by insulting our friends,” said Clinton at the American Legion’s annual meeting near Cincinnati. “Dropping in on our neighbors for a few hours, and then flying home again -- that is not how it works.”

“She didn’t go to Mexico,” Trump told a crowd later that evening. “She was invited - she doesn’t have the strength or the stamina to make America great again.”
