Homicide investigation underway after 75-year-old man found dead in Muncie apartment

MUNCIE, Ind. – Muncie police are investigating a homicide after a man’s body was found in an apartment Monday morning.

Muncie Police Chief Steve Stewart says the man was found at Middletown Gardens in the 2300 block of South Skinner Street during a welfare check around 8:11 a.m.

Officers were called to check on the man, later identified as Larry Reed, 75, because he hadn’t been seen by anyone for a few days.

Reed’s cause of death has not been released at this time.
