INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Wednesday morning, the City of Greenwood is celebrating the completion of the Worthsville Road Project, a $17 million project that’s over three years in the making.

Those behind it say driving across Johnson County is much easier now; drivers will notice less congestion and more interstate access.

This is now a four lane road, extending from I-65 to U.S. 31, giving Greenwood an east-west corridor to ease congestion and potentially bring new business.

Drivers will notice no stops between I-65 and U.S. 31, but one new roundabout was installed at Sheek Road.

Also, trails were installed on both sides of the road.

It’s noticeably dark along parts of the corridor, which organizers say is by design to maintain the area’s rural feel.
