Scene of fatal crash

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Indianapolis police were called to investigate a fatal crash involving a semi and a motorcycle on the south side Monday evening.

When officers arrived to the crash in the 1700 block of West Thompson Road around 5:30 p.m, they found the 22-year-old male victim in a parking lot at the nearby Flying J truck stop. EMS arrived and pronounced him dead at the scene.

Investigators believe the semi was headed west on Thompson in the left lane and the motorcyclist was headed in the same direction in the right lane. The semi made a right turn in front of the motorcyclist, at which time the victim was unable to stop and ran into the semi’s trailer, killing him.

The victim’s name will be released once his next-of-kin have been notified.
