MONROE COUNTY, Ind. – A Bloomington woman died early Saturday morning after her Subaru Forester was struck by a Prevost bus at the intersection of South State Road 37 and Old State Road 37 South.

Deputies with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash around 12:12 a.m.

Emergency personnel pronounced the victim, Allison Hoeppner, 45, dead on scene.

Hoeppner was the daughter of former IU football coach Terry Hoeppner. The team honored her by having a moment of silence during their game Saturday.

The investigation into the crash determined that the bus driver, Johnathan Brewer, 43, failed to stop at a traffic light and collided with the Subaru, which had the right of way.

Jonathan Brewer was transported to IU Health Bloomington Hospital for a blood draw, which is standard for a person involved in a fatal crash. Deputies say there was no indication of impairment.
