INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.—Police have released new surveillance photos of the man suspected of shooting a Speedway gas station clerk during an attempted robbery on the west side Friday.

The male suspect, who is believed to be a regular customer, entered the business at 7270 West 10th Street around 2:36 a.m.

Police say he went up to the counter with a lit cigarette and left. He then returned about an hour later, with his hood up, and approached the counter as the clerk was going behind it to wait on him. That’s when officers say he pulled out a silver revolver and demanded money.

The clerk was shot in the back by the suspect while fleeing to the back room.

Police say the victim ran out the back door and the suspect fled through the front door. The suspect chased the victim towards the McDonald’s next door. He then fled northbound on Girls School Road in a black Chevy Trailblazer.

The suspect is believed to be 5 feet 9 inches tall and around 220 to 240 lbs. He was wearing all black clothing at the time of the incident.
