INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.– Indianapolis Public Schools students and parents are getting ready for fall break!

With many students living in food deserts or living at or below the poverty level, IPS will continue to serve meals during the two-week break.

Fall break runs from Oct. 3-14. IPS will provide lunch at 24 schools and two satellite locations daily. Seven of those sites will also offer daily breakfast.

The meals are free for IPS students, thanks to the School Meals Program.

IPS says the special meal offerings are provided during spring, fall, winter and summer breaks and on inclement weather days. This past summer, 59,154 fresh breakfasts and lunches were served to students.

Anyone with questions or concerns about the program can call the IPS Food Service Department at 317-226-4772 from 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
