FRANKFORT, Ind. – A  suspect was arrested in connection with the murder of an elderly woman in Frankfort Tuesday.

Police responded to the victim’s home in the 200 block of South 3rd Street around 8:11 a.m. There, they found Betty Wann, 96, deceased in her living room and what appeared to be signs of forced entry.

Wann's neighbor and relative, Linda L. Decker, 67, was on scene when officers arrived. She was later placed into custody and taken to the Clinton County Jail to await a formal murder charge.

Police had not released Wann's cause of death as of 11 p.m. Tuesday.

This was the second homicide in Frankfort this year. The investigation is ongoing.
