Two men charged with OWI after fatal crash on west side of Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Two Indianapolis men were arrested after a fatal crash on the city’s west side Sunday morning.

IMPD officers were dispatched to the area of Rockville Rd and I-465 around 2:15 a.m. in reference to a serious accident involving two vehicles.

Responding officers located a Buick sedan and a Ford Mustang at the intersection. James Hardcastle, 40, was a passenger in the Ford, and he was found unresponsive. EMS personnel responded and pronounced him dead at the scene.

The driver of the Ford has been identified as Glen Murphy, 38, and he was prelimarily charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated causing death.

The driver of the Buick was identified as Michael Strugala, 40, and he was preliminarily charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

Both men were later transported to the Arrestee Processing Center for booking. The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will review the case and make a final charging decision.
