Autumn feel increases as rain and clouds are now in place; some storms possible

Clouds are moving in and areas of rain are now swirling through the state. Thunderstorms have also been indicated on Live Guardian Radar and this will be the trend today and beyond. Temperatures are holding in the 50s for most, at this hour, and highs today will only reach 64°, some 10° below the seasonal average (more like mid-October averages). Bottom line, grab the umbrella and sweatshirt or jacket for today!

Two other things of note: 1) In this type of environment with moderate instability, any storms that develop could also produce small hail, lightning in this shallower cold air. 2) Also, cold air funnels will be possible…the threat is small and any brief touchdown is highly unlikely! Read below:
