CARMEL, Ind. – The mayor of Carmel may not be getting a hefty raise after all.

The Carmel Finance Committee approved a 2% raise for all elected officials Monday night.

The approval means Mayor Jim Brainard will likely not see the $50,000 pay raise that some expected he would get. That raise would have made him the highest-paid mayor in Indiana.

The full council will give final approval next week.
